...under our asses. The roof is done (all but one little overhang in the backyard where they ran out of shingles-- they're coming to finish it later). I really, really, really prefer the grey color and the architectural texture.
And now, as Adam said, "It just makes the rest of our house look shittier." Time to get cracking!
Yesterday, we turned on the AC for the first time since we moved in. It wasn't so much hot, as muggy beyond belief. It's oppressive, the humidity we get down here, especially since we're in a river valley. And I've NEVER had central air conditioning in my entire life. Never even in a rental property. And I've never slept so comfortably.

You have a great porch.
The roof looks good too.
Central AC is proof that God loves us. We've avoided turning ours on still.. MD weather has been unusually mild through May (take that global warming - I wonder if its because we switched to EE bulbs? hmm). Anyhow, congrats on *having* central AC. I wouldn't stay home without it.
I've never had AC, either... don't expect to in this house, either. OF course, we live in Colorado, and it cools down considerably at night, and it's so dry we can use a swamp cooler instead. I love my swamp cooler (or evaporative cooler, as they are calling them now)
Congrats on the new roof!
Our AC doesn't work here in this house so I am hoping that the summer is reasonably comfortable...this will be my firt summer since I was a young girl without it and I am too old to walk around in nothin but skivvies
I just recently found your blog and am having fun going through the archive. :) I wish we had old houses here in Alaska!
The new roof looks great!
