Thing #1 that I love about my kitchen
No, it is not the many boxes in varying states of unpacked that have taken up residence in the room...
It's the fact that there's counter space RIGHT NEXT TO the stove. My feet get to stay firmly planted while I stir, sauté and chop to my heart's content. I'm so happy.

Your kitchen looks as full of boxes as ours does! You may be right that it's going to take more than a year to unpack it all. (I'm still working on getting out the junk the Previous Owners left behind.)
Exciting! I remember moving out of my two college apartments with stand alone stoves to our current house... it IS so nice to have a counter next to the stove!
Very exciting the move into the new place -- and I'm sure it won't take too long to get the unpacking done.
You can never have too much counter space - particularly counter space in the right places. The countertops themselves look fanstastic.
