Backsplash is on its way!! I got the notice that our aluminum "tin" panels have shipped. If all goes well (and I'll probably be kicking myself for saying this), we might actually get to tackle it this weekend...

What was your source for the tin? I looked around, but haven't been happy with the prices yet. Bet you can't wait.

MBoss Inc.

The "finished" pieces are pretty pricey, but if you buy them in the plain "mill" finish they're really cheap. I know goddessof4 has used this company (bought panels in mill finish and gave htem a protective clear coat of rustoleum, or thereabouts) and they were very happy.

We're going to hit up Michaels and try some different faux finishes to see if an oil-rubbed bronze or saddle oiled look would work. If not, "clear coat stainless" look it is!

The pre-finished pieces run anywhere from $11 per panel to $50 or $60. But the mill finish that we'll top coat ourselves are $6.50 each.

I'll keep the blog updated on how they turn out!

I look forward to seeing how this turns out--we're considering a "tin" ceiling for our laundry room.
